Description of The Tour
Our Heart Creek Canyon tour is designed for individuals who are new to Canyoning or have limited experience and are in good physical shape.
Once you meet your guide and gear up in the parking lot, your adventure will commence with a 2.7km scenic interpretive hike up the creek. After a short break, the descent of the canyon will then begin.
In the upper section, which is generally dry after June, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the art of canyon rappelling, featuring five fun rappels of up to 8-meter height.
Moving to the lower section, you’ll encounter a stunning 20-meter waterfall that offers an exhilarating rush for those seeking a challenge. Participants who prefer to bypass this final obstacle can do so by walking around it with the guide.
Please note that there is no swimming or jumping involved on this tour. Check our trip in Abraham lake area for more adrenaline rush!
Meeting Location and Progress of The Tour
We meet our clients 15 minutes before the start time of the tour at the Heart creek parking lot, 15 minutes outside of Canmore. Please note that a Conservation pass is needed to park there. You can purchase it here: https://www.alberta.ca/kananaskis-conservation-pass.aspx
There, we gear up and have a short talk as to the plan for the day.
Then we hike up to the upper entrance of the canyon (usually between 30 and 45 minutes of hiking).
From there, we descend the upper canyon. This section is fun and scenic. Minimum exposure allows everybody to get comfortable on the rope at their own pace.
After a 10-minute walk from the end of the upper section, we reach the last bit of the Canyon. There the water re-appear from the ground to offer us a full-on 30-meter rappel. The ones who don’t feel comfortable will have the option to walk around this section.
We hike back to the parking lot.

We have all the specific gear for you to stay safe (harness, helmet, etc.).
You only need to bring a bathing suit, a jacket (windbreaker, light rain jacket or hardshell), some shoes (running, approach, or light hiking shoes that can go in the water), and a towel.
